I have been following several threads in which this topic came up and I have tried to use what I learned in each but the problem continues. When playing back recorded tracks (~24 tracks), I get random pops and clicks. My machine is a Phenom 6 core on a MSI 890FXA-GD70 main board with 8gb of ram and Windows 7 64 bit. I have several disks installed so my project files are not on the system device. At present I am using the built in Realtek sound card using the digital out to a JBL LSR speaker set. I am pretty sure the clicks are not in the recording. I have looped small sections and note that the clicks are in different places on each loop. I tried using a Mobile-Pre to listen with headphones and there still was some clicks. I update the bios on the computer and the Realtek drivers too. The audio was recorded using Reaper 4.11 on a MacBook Pro i7 Core Duo using Dante over Gig Ethernet from a Yamaha LS9-32 which was mixing a live show. I need to get rid of the clicks before the artist comes in to listen. I have run DPC Latency checker and it says things are good. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thank you

Asio4all works well with Realtek soundcards. Just install it then go to Preferences->Audio->Device and in Audio System select ASIO then asio4all in the driver dropdown. Then open the ASIO configuration and set the buffer size fairly high, say 1024 samples, to start with. Experiment with the buffer size so you have minimum latency and no clicks, distortion etc. Steve

Thanks for the help. I installed the ASIO4ALL driver and played around with the buffer sizes. It seemed good all the way down to 128 samples but to be safe for now I left it at 256. I did have to open up the advanced settings so I could select the correct out (digital optical out) as the default was the analog ports on the rear of the PC. I already had the PC set to highest performance. With the water cooled radiator it stays cool and quiet.
